As you know, Ukrainian children grew up quickly and stood side by side with adults in defense of Ukraine. The president stated this in his address on the first day of the new academic year.
At the same time, on the Day of Knowledge, Petro Poroshenko expressed the hope that next year, thousands of pupils, students and teachers will be able to meet September 1 in classrooms and classrooms without fear.
We will remind, more than a hundred schools were destroyed by the occupiers in Kharkiv. Despite this, training will begin in the city on September 1. However, the lessons will be distance learning.

More than a hundred schools were destroyed by the occupiers in Kharkiv. Despite this, training will begin in the city on September 1. However, the lessons will be distance learning. Our film crew visited one of the schools on the outskirts of the city, from where the border with the Russian Federation is about 20 kilometers away. One of its buildings has been destroyed since the beginning of the invasion. The village where it is located was under constant shelling. But the educational process will be started here according to the schedule and they even scored first marks.
This educational institution is 26 kilometers from the Russian border. On the very first day of the invasion, the enemy "Hradi" was seen here. And in April, the occupiers dropped 5 shells here on parachutes. They destroyed the hall and the third floor. At the same time, an artillery shell destroyed one office with a direct hit. But the Slobozhan shrine, full of Ukrainian amulets, remained without a single scratch.
Before the war, this building housed 25 classes from the 5th to the 11th. Ukrainian language teacher Lyudmila Gryanyk worked in one of them. She tells: most of her students are now abroad.
"They are very worried, but this does not stop them from asserting and begging non-stop - we want to go home, home! 19 families are currently abroad, but they intend to study there too, because they demand it there, and study online at our school," says the teacher Ukrainian language and literature Lyudmila Gryanyk.
The school will start online education on September 1. The lesson schedule is ready. More than 1,000 students will study at the institution. This is only 40 less than in peacetime. First grade classes were also recruited.
"We are opening 4 first grades. I won't tell you exactly how many now, because even today three students have arrived for the first grade. We are very happy, we expected more. But we will have a more or less normal number of classes," says Oleksandr Gryanik, director of the Kharkiv school .
In the institution, the building for younger classes remained almost undamaged. Now local residents are fed free lunches here. And since the beginning of active hostilities, they have been hiding from shelling.
"There were times when a family occupied such a section here, but the worst were the days from February 24 and March, there was no place. The first nights people sat here. These, for example, were one of the best places, because they were lying down ", the director demonstrates.
These premises, which have already been tested by the war, are planned to be converted into a bomb shelter. In case of danger during offline learning, it will accommodate up to three hundred children.
"We have the necessary equipment, everything. Starting from the so-called biotoilets, to the provision of medical assistance exclusively in this room, in the basement without going up to the first floor. We have already installed a boiler here. There is even a shower room," Oleksandr Gryanyk explains.
On September 1, Kharkiv schoolchildren will go to school virtually.
Due to constant shelling, they decided not to expose children to danger. Some of them were left without a home and without a school. Over the past six months, enemies destroyed 113 schools in Kharkiv.
